What should a hair salon or barber website include?

By · · 3 min read

A social media page is a great way to show off your work, but you don't control it, and it doesn't answer the questions new customers have. A simple website does. Here's what a salon or barber's website should include.

1. Online booking, front and centre

People often think about booking outside your opening hours. If they can book right then, you don't lose them or spend your day answering messages. Put a booking button at the top of every page, and make sure it's quick to use on a phone. If you already use a booking system, your website can link to it.

2. A clear price list

Customers want a rough idea of the cost before they get in touch. Group your prices by category, such as cuts, colour and treatments, and use "from" prices where the final cost depends on hair length or the stylist. It saves a lot of back-and-forth.

3. Real photos of your work

This is what really sells a salon or barbers. Use your own photos wherever you can, and keep them up to date. Show your space as well as finished cuts, so new customers know what to expect when they walk in.

4. Your team

People choose a stylist or barber, not just a business. A short profile with a photo and specialism helps customers choose, and it's reassuring for anyone trying somewhere new.

5. The practical details

  • Your address and a map
  • Parking and public transport information
  • Opening hours, including late nights
  • A phone number you can tap to call
  • Your policy on walk-ins and cancellations

6. A strong Google Business Profile

When somebody searches for a "hairdresser near me" or "barbers near me", the map results come first. Fill in your profile, keep your details the same as those on your website, and ask happy customers for reviews. Our local SEO quick wins will take you through the basics.

We've built demo websites to show how this comes together. Try booking an appointment on our hair salon demo and our barber demo. There's also a nail and beauty demo. If you need something deeper, such as staff calendars and client records, take a look at our salon booking system.
